- Frank Buist, 72, Ex-Grocer, Dies
Frank Buist, 72, of 134 Andre St., S.W., owner and operator of Frank'sLittle Store near Burton Junior High School, died Tuesday at ButterworthHospital following a heart attack Sunday.
Born in Kent County, he had lived at the Andre St. address 47 years.
A former heating and building contractor, Mr. Buist opened his groceryopposite Burton Junior High School in 1940 and retired last spring.
His wife, the former Mary Northouse, died in 1925.
Mr. Buist is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John Boersma of Wyoming andMrs. Maurice Ketchum of Grand Rapids; two sons, George R. of Bath andFrank Jr. of Grand Rapids; two sisters, Mrs. Barney Northouse of Duttonand Mrs. Paul Pell, of Grand Rapids; one brother, John G. of GrandRapids; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Sullivan Chapel, withburial in Garfield Park cemetery.
